Support Groups
Caring for someone with dementia can be extremely difficult. So having emotional support and practical advice from someone who understands what you’re going through might be life-changing. Come along to make new friends, share experiences and be honest, without fear or embarrassment
get tips from group members on how to support someone with dementia, as well as how to keep looking after yourself. Have your questions answered by highly skilled, compassionate, and experienced staff who run the sessions. Our Community Educators facilitate support groups for carers across the region. Support groups are a great opportunity to meet other carers in your area and share stories and tips. Our support group members find the groups help them feel less isolated, provide emotional and practical support, and are often a welcome break from the caring role. Some regions also offer a coffee peer support group where people with dementia and their care partner meet up with other couples for a social outing.
