Move For Dementia

If you are looking for a way to support people living with dementia and Alzheimers Disease, Move for Dementia is for you!

Move for dementia is an online platform that allows you to set and monitor your own activity challenge and fundraise for Alzheimers Otago. It’s as easy as 1,2,3.

1. Choose your challenge

2. Set up your fundraising page at movefordementia.org.nz

3. Get moving!

Your challenge can be big or small. You may be training for a marathon or a big trek. Or you could be doing something at a little slower pace. The choice is yours. Read below to find out what some of our supporters have been up to.

The Purple Party

Lily, Ciara and Cassie, students from the University of Otago, set themselves the goal to run 100km through September. The Purple Party raised almost $850 through their challenge and we are so grateful for their support!

Jill does it for dementia

Oamaru resident, Jill Macrae, lives with cerebral palsy. Jill set herself the challenge of walking from her home in to the North New World, Oamaru (Approximately half a kilometre). Jill had not walked this far since she was at high school. Jill’s mum was diagnosed with dementia and was supported by Alzheimers Otago, Oamaru office, and now Jill wants to try to give something back to the organisation.
