Generous donation from Balmacewan Lions Club

A huge thank you to the Balmacewan Lions Club for their generous $500 donation to support the work of Alzheimers Otago. General Manager, Liz Harburg attended a special meeting of the club to accept the donation and thank the club for their support. "Alzheimers Otago simply couldn't continue to operate without the support of our local community and we are always incredibly humbled and grateful when we receive a donation, big or small. It means the world to us." She said.

Alzheimers Otago runs primarily on grants from local community trusts and community donations to support us to deliver our services to people with dementia and their families. From 2021 onwards we are committed to diversifying our services to offer more programmes and activities directly to people with dementia, especially in the earlier stages. We have begun to deliver these services in Oamaru, Queenstown and Wanaka but we need to do more! Your donations help us to achieve this goal. If you would like to support us with a donation visit our donations page to find out how. But you can also show your support in other ways, telling a friend about our work, liking us on Facebook and sharing our posts and sharing our newsletters all help us to raise awareness and funds.

Thank you again to the Balmacewan Lions and the entire Otago community for your ongoing support.
