Dear Carers and Friends of Alzheimers Otago,
These are challenging times, and we understand that many of you might be finding this “new normal” particularly hard. Please remember that we are here for you. Our Community educators and Activity Coordinators continue to support our carers via telephone, email or Zoom.
As a charity, Alzheimers Otago relies on the support of our community to deliver our services. One way you can support us, is to become a member of Alzheimers Otago. We recently compared our membership fee for individuals/families to those of other Alzheimer’s Societies in New Zealand we realised that our fee was far below the average. Thus we have increased our fee from $20 to $25 per year
. The corporate fee remains the same at $100 per organisation.
$25 Annual Membership provides you with
1 Vital support to ensure we can continue to deliver our services
2 Membership of a Community of people in a similar situation to you
3 Voting rights at our AGM to help guide the direction of the Society
4 First access to new programmes and services
If you cant become a member right now there are other ways you can support us
1 Tell a friend or family member about us or visit our website https://alzheimersotago.org.nz/
2 Let one of our Community Educators know that you appreciate their support.
3 Become a Dementia Friend. This online course is only 20 minutes and will increase your knowledge and confidence about dementia. Increased understanding ofdementia will grow inclusion and reduce the stigma and discrimination people affected by dementia experience.
